QRators in Action: DaLi Consulting Group’s Strategic Use of Accessibility QR Codes for Airline Passengers

QRators in Action highlights the success and experiences of businesses that use dynamic QR codes to create connected customer journeys and strengthen brand awareness.

Costa Rican marketing agency DaLi Consulting Group positions itself as a strategic partner to the companies it works with.

One of its notable projects is for a client working for Guanacaste Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica.

Using a dynamic QR code, the airport provides a convenient way for travelers to access the airport’s customs procedures, security protocols, and cash declaration processes on their smartphones, allowing them to read them as they move.

About DaLi Consulting Group

DaLi Consulting Group is a boutique marketing and consulting agency that offers a hands-on approach to strategizing campaigns that advertise to the top 1% of the world.

Its name comes from its two founders, Ana María Lizarralde and Eduardo Davidovich, two digital marketers with over 12 years of experience in the industry.

The group’s services involve more than just digital marketing. Aside from social media marketing, paid media advertising, and web development, DaLi collaborates with companies to improve their operations and reach their objectives.

“Many of our clients operate in luxury real estate, hospitality, vacation rentals, and the automotive industry,” Ana and Eduardo shared.

According to them, their team does not look at marketing as a collection of isolated campaigns.

“We connect marketing with how the business actually operates and with the full customer journey, including both physical and digital touchpoints.”

Inside DaLi’s QR code strategy for Guanascaste Airport information signs

QR code signages on Costa Rican airport

We had the chance to talk with DaLi’s co-founders, Eduardo Davidovich (Managing Partner) and Ana Maria Lizarralde (Marketing Manager), to learn how using a dynamic QR code helps the agency complete their project for their clients.

The challenge

According to Ana and Eduardo, the decision to use a QR code came into play when one of their clients, who specializes in signage and visual communication systems for complex environments, needed to install signs for Guanacaste Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica.

The signs should show important customs and security information, including cash declaration requirements, without cluttering the signs.

The solution

The QR CEMSO ICD Aeropuerto Liberia allowed DaLi to keep the physical sign clear and easy to understand while giving travelers immediate access to more detailed information for entering or leaving Costa Rica on their phones.

“We chose a dynamic QR code because it also gave us the flexibility to manage the digital content and measure how people interacted with the sign after it was installed,” they shared.

Additionally, Ana and Eduardo shared that while the primary purpose of the airport QR code is practical, such as giving travelers easy access to important information, its analytics help them understand how physical touchpoints are being used. Meanwhile, the retargeting integration allows the interaction to become part of a broader digital customer journey.

They also learned that placement and context are extremely important. “People scan this QR because they have a clear and immediate reason to access the information. That produces sustained engagement over time.”

“Another important learning was the need to distinguish between total and unique scans. Both metrics are valuable, but they represent different types of interaction and should not be interpreted in the same way,” they shared.

The results

“As of August 12, 2026, the QR TIGER dashboard shows 25,417 total scans and 3,819 unique scans,” said Eduardo and Ana.

In 2025, the QR generated 15,128 total scans and 2,407 unique scans. So far in 2026, it has generated another 10,247 total scans and 1,395 unique scans.

Furthermore, over 20,000 of the total scans came from iOS devices, representing approximately 80.5 percent of all interactions. The geographic information also reflects activity associated with many different international markets.

“For us, the value is not limited to the number of scans. These interactions also provide audience signals that can be integrated into our Meta and Google retargeting strategies,” they stated.

While Ana and Eduardo do not attribute a specific amount of revenue or return on investment (ROI) exclusively to the QR code, as it is part of a broader marketing system, its sustained volume has made it a meaningful asset for their digital campaigns.

How DaLi builds a scalable project with QR TIGER

“QR TIGER helped us turn the QR code into much more than a tool for accessing digital content,” Ana and Eduardo shared.

According to them, the analytics allow them to monitor total and unique scans, activity over time, device types, and geographic patterns.

However, one of the features they value most is the retargeting integration.

“By connecting the QR interaction with our advertising infrastructure in Meta and Google, we can use the scan as an audience signal and support relevant follow-up campaigns,” they said.

For them, it is especially valuable because they work with luxury vacation rental, property management, hospitality, and real estate brands in Guanacaste.

“The integration has worked smoothly within our existing advertising setup. It allows us to connect an offline interaction at the airport with the broader digital advertising ecosystem we manage for our clients,” they said.

Eduardo and Ana stated that QR TIGER provides much more than QR code generation. The platform gives them dynamic content management, detailed analytics, customization options, and retargeting integrations with platforms such as Meta and Google.

4 dynamic QR code features that turned DaLi’s strategy into action

1. Capability to hold various types of information

Dynamic QR codes can serve more than one purpose. In DaLi’s case, the airport QR code gave travelers immediate access to essential travel information on their smartphones, wherever they are in the vicinity.

If needed in the future, the group can update the destination and lead it to a video or map on the web for additional visual information.

2. Retargeting integration

The dynamic QR code retargeting tool allows DaLi to show tailored ads to people who interacted with it through Meta platforms and Google.

In their own words, Ana and Eduardo said that the retargeting capability is particularly valuable because it allows a physical interaction to support audience development and relevant follow-up advertising campaigns.

3. Flexibility for different contexts and placements

DaLi learned that users scan QR codes because they have a reason to do so. That means that, to maintain engagement, QR codes have to store data that is useful to the target audience. In this case, the key airport and travel information.

Something else that supports this is the right placement of the QR code. If QR codes are placed in context-relevant positions, then users will understand their purpose much more quickly, encouraging scans.

4. Scan analytics

Total and unique scans are only two of several metrics that dynamic QR codes can track. Other information that is measurable through these codes includes the geographic location of scans, the time the code was scanned, and the device used.

This data doesn’t just highlight engagement activity. They also indicate user preferences, allowing the firm to tweak the airport QR code and other campaigns to provide relevant information and ads to travelers.

What businesses can learn from DaLi’s implementation

DaLi’s implementation of a dynamic QR code demonstrates the convenience and efficiency that QR technology brings, especially in complex environments like airports.

There are five lessons businesses can get from it:

1. Relevant information can be made accessible anywhere: Information that will be useful in the moment can be easily delivered to users with a QR code. It improves the customer journey by removing unnecessary steps from the process of accessing information.

2. Future updates can be made without replacing everything: Dynamic QR codes allow marketers to have a “permanent” code that can remain in place forever, with its contents kept up-to-date digitally.

3. QR codes can help optimize signage: Instead of cluttering posters and signs with numerous bullet points, a QR code can lead people to the information through the devices they already carry.

4. Scan data can transform marketing strategies: Total and unique scans, device types, and scan locations can tell marketers a lot about their target audience, often enough to make adjustments or completely change entire campaigns.

5. Connecting physical interactions into digital experiences is possible: QR codes enable companies to learn and make use of the interests people already have in physical assets into experiences that are tailored to their contexts.

Wrapping up

DaLi prides itself on offering bespoke services to its clients. Its project for Guanacaste Airport is one of them.

Through a dynamic QR code, the airport can show travelers the right procedures to follow by scanning it with their smartphones, allowing for faster and shorter queues at different checkpoints.

At the same time, it creates a feedback loop that helps them improve the airport’s method of disseminating essential travel information and allows for more targeted campaigns.

For Ana and Eduardo, QR TIGER QR Code Generator is a helpful software for businesses that want to connect physical spaces, signage, or printed materials with measurable digital experiences.

“For an agency like ours, it provides both creative flexibility and strategic value. It has allowed us to transform a fixed piece of airport signage into an updatable, measurable, and actionable digital touchpoint,” they said.

Since 2018, QR TIGER has helped businesses and professionals across 147 countries deliver connected experiences to their customers through dynamic QR code campaigns, smart tracking, integrations, secure hosting, and 99.9% guaranteed service uptime.
