The Fatehabad police have launched a QR code feedback system for more transparent, accountable, and responsible enforcement of law and order in the district.

Haryana, India—The Fatehabad police unit introduced a first-of-its-kind system that allows the public to assess the quality of administrative services directly through quick-response (QR) codes.

The feedback QR code is placed at key police contact points, including police stations, traffic points, Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles, and women’s help desks.

A QR code feedback system is a digital tool that can be created using a QR code generator online. Scanning it allows the public to instantly access a form, comment on or rate the services they receive, and submit their feedback.

According to Fatehabad SP, Siddhant Jain, “This initiative marks a step towards public-oriented, transparent and responsible policing.”

The Fatehabad police QR code is linked to an online form where users can provide input on staff behavior, waiting times, and overall experience.

This QR code for survey ensures that every interaction can be quickly evaluated, helping the department gather actionable insights from citizens.

It also eliminates the need for paperwork and long feedback cycles, offering a more direct and efficient channel between the public and the police. 

Earlier this year, similar systems were introduced in Gurgaon, Telangana and Srinagar, proving the effectiveness of QR codes in maintaining open and safe communications. 

The first of this system was observed in 2023, when the Bangalore police, under the ‘Loka Spandana’ initiative, launched a QR code system which people can use to give feedback on the service provided to citizens.

A 2018 survey conducted in India revealed that only 25% of Indians trusted the police, in contrast to 54% who trusted the army.

This gap highlights the importance of initiatives that foster transparency and citizen engagement. However, it’s notable that numerous citizens in India are not tech literate. They may not have easy access to an online grievance portal to report their concerns.

And QR codes are here to close the gap.

The QR code for feedback introduced by the Fatehabad police is a step in that direction. By making it easier for people to share their experiences with the police force, the system opens up a direct, digital channel for feedback.

If someone has a negative experience with a particular police officer, they can use the feedback form with QR code to submit a complaint, including specific details about the incident and the personnel involved.
