The story behind Evolet Eve

As many cafés and gathering spots became more transactional and rushed, the need for places that feel personal and welcoming became more apparent.

It underscored the importance of a “third home,” a place outside home and work where people can relax, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.

Evolet Eve was built around this vision. Founded in 2020 and later expanded to include Cora Coffee, the local wine bar and casual dining spot in Warrenville, Illinois, was designed to feel like a true home away from home.

From its thoughtfully curated ambience to its rotating menu and community-focused experiences, every detail is intentional.

This includes Evolet Eve’s use of practical digital tools, such as QR codes and contactless menus, to support sustainability, flexibility, and a consistently engaging guest experience.

The community that pushes Evolet Eve to adopt a menu QR code

At the heart of Evolet Eve is a clear vision of what a modern gathering space can be. Its thoughtful use of a restaurant QR code solution reflects how small businesses can adapt technologies without losing their soul.

We had the opportunity to speak with Monika Lefever, founder and owner of Evolet Eve, to learn how the concept of a third home came to life. We also had a chance to learn how QR codes became a practical part of the business.

Tell us briefly about your company. What makes your brand or service unique?

I always loved the idea of a “third home”. A place that’s just as regularly visited as your home or job, hence “third”. But it’s a place you can choose, unlike family.

It’s a place you can cultivate comfort, connection, and celebratory events, unlike your place of work. Your third home is your home away from home, but you don’t have to clean or do dishes.

That was my vision back in 2018, when I was a stay-at-home mother desperate for a third home. Little did I know when I’d do a crazy thing that the world would change with a modern-day pandemic.

I decided to continue on with my adventure because I knew that when the world would open back up, we’d desperately need more “third homes.” Boy, was I right.

I think the reason I continued to float through a very challenging time in business, and grow by adding a coffeehouse into the mix in June 2025, is that I did it: I created a third home.

Why did you decide to use QR codes, and what made you choose this approach for your campaign or event?

"Evolet Eve was created in 2020, when QR-driven menus were wildly used to help navigate COVID.

I didn’t realize at that time that, regardless of a virus, my business needed a digital menu as my menu rotates weekly. With a rotating menu, it’s just so wasteful to use print and paper. Using QR TIGER saves my business money."

How has QR TIGER helped your company achieve its goals?

"QR TIGER allows my company to seamlessly change and update my rotating menu, without the cost of print."

What key insights or learnings did you gain from using QR TIGER in your campaign?

"Digital menus provide customer analytics, whereas paper menus just aren’t able to."

We'd love to understand the impact of your QR TIGER campaign. Can you share any results or numbers you're comfortable providing? (Engagement, reach, leads, conversions, ROI)

"The biggest ROI has been the savings QR TIGER provides for my business. With a rotating menu, paper menus would be a large expense."

Would you recommend QR TIGER to other businesses? Why?

"I would recommend QR TIGER. It’s user-friendly and feasible!"

Why QR codes make sense for rotating menus

For businesses with frequently changing menus, printed materials can quickly become costly and wasteful. Each update requires reprinting, even when changes are minor.

QR code menus allow businesses to update offerings in real time, rather than printing multiple paper menus and switching them out each time.

It keeps information accurate, reduces waste, and simplifies day-to-day operations, making QR codes a practical solution for rotating menus.

Beyond flexibility, menu QR codes reveal data that paper menus can’t, including how often menus are scanned and when guests engage most. This helps businesses understand customer interest patterns without adding friction to the dining experience.

Over time, these insights can inform smarter decisions, from refining menu layouts to adjusting offerings based on demand. Instead of relying on guesswork, businesses gain data-backed visibility into how guests actually interact with the menu.

For spaces like Evolet Eve, a restaurant QR code streamlines daily operations, allowing the business to focus on service while guests navigate the latest menu details without hassle.

The result is a smoother experience that balances efficiency with intention, allowing businesses to stay agile without sacrificing the warmth and connection that define great hospitality.

Keeping community at the heart of innovation

Evolet Eve’s approach shows that small, thoughtful choices can make a meaningful difference.

By using QR codes generated with an advanced QR code generator for its rotating menus, Evolet Eve reduces waste, cuts costs, and stays flexible without disrupting the guest experience of feeling “at home.”

More importantly, the technology works quietly in the background, allowing the focus to remain on what matters most: creating a welcoming space and menus that keep people returning again and again, always with something new to try.

For community-driven cafés and gathering spaces, QR codes can be a practical tool that supports connection rather than replacing it.Brands using QR codes
