Fan service often comes in the form of photo cards, merchandise drops, or livestreams.

But the first AHOF fan-con in Korea presents a unique QR code K-pop gimmick.

Instead of flashy visuals, the group chose something deeply personal — their voices — delivered with a twist.

Each member's voice clip was uploaded to Google Drive and linked to a quick-response code using a dynamic QR code generator online.

After fans saved images of the QR codes, many searched for 'How to Scan QR Code for AHOF' to view the messages from each member.

Scanning the QR code for AHOFOHA is simple: point your smartphone’s camera at the code, and the audio message pops up immediately.

The messages ranged from words of gratitude and encouragement to playful remarks that reflected each member’s personality, making the experience feel intimate and one-of-a-kind.

And since the QR messages from AHOF were exclusively revealed at the event, it fueled curiosity and conversations online.

Data shows how QR code relevance leads to successful engagement

QR code for engagements

Recognizing gender demographics is a strategic prerequisite for creating more meaningful brand connections. In this case, engaging K-pop fans.

According to recent QR code statistics, nearly half of the people who use QR codes are Gen Z and Millennials. Most of them are women, with 54.4% scanning QR codes on a monthly basis

Coincidentally, the K-pop industry also has a significant fan base among Gen Z and Millennials, which is predominantly female, according to most studies.

Female consumers are also more likely to respond to experiences that create emotionally meaningful interactions, especially those that enable personal expression and foster social connection.

As for AHOF, the boy group is composed of members belonging to Generation Z and Alpha. Most of their fans, who are women, also fall in the same age bracket as them.

Combining emotional content and QR codes during the fan convention proved to be the best course of action for the group, serving as the "secret sauce" for fan engagement.

Since the majority of the fans know how to activate the AHOF QR code, implementing it at the show is relatively smooth.

The immediate fan interaction through on-site QR scans also increased the perception of AHOF being thoughtful, creative, and fan-centric.

QR codes as the staple of fan engagement

The AHOF fan-con’s QR codes are one of the most notable fan engagement examples that the entertainment and marketing industries should closely watch in 2026.

It shows how the technology is evolving into a fan engagement solution, which is most impactful when used to deliver content that is meaningful to the audience.
