The upcoming iOS 27 update will include “Create a pass” in Apple Wallet, a feature that lets users generate a custom Apple Wallet QR Code Pass from any QR code generated for memberships and ticketing platforms.
According to Bloomberg, the tech giant aims to give users more control by offering the option to add a QR code to Apple Wallet Pass, removing the hassle of searching through their phone for different passes.

What to know about Apple Wallet’s “Create a pass” feature
Apple Wallet is primarily an app for accessing passes from compatible third-party apps and storing virtual credit and debit cards for Apple Pay. While convenient, users still rely heavily on external apps or services that don’t support it.
The Apple Wallet QR Code Pass feature, expected to come with iOS 27, will allow users to create a customized wallet pass from a third-party QR code generator and service app, as well as from an existing physical QR code.
This means QR code loyalty programs, gym memberships, local events, tickets, and even smaller app services that don’t have Apple Wallet integration can be consolidated in one place.
How the Apple Wallet’s QR code pass works
To create Apple Wallet passes from the QR codes, tap the plus (+) button on the app.
Choose “Create a pass.” Then, either scan a QR code with the iPhone camera or upload a photo of it.
Users of advanced QR code software can also do the same to add their digital business card to Apple Wallet.
After scanning, start customizing the pass by choosing from a variety of styles, images, colors, and text fields. Users can also organize them into specific templates, including standard, membership, and event styles.
